Our Great Loop

It was our plan to buy a live-aboard boat to cruise America's "Great Loop" - when we both are retired - but, things changed.
What with the economy and changes to our retirement future we have decided to voyage by a different means - an RV.

   We were looking at Motorhomes but decided that our moneys would go further by going another route. We first purchased an Interstate cargo trailer and converted it into a toyhauler. We pulled that on it's maiden voyage to Billings, MT with our Toyota 4 Runner. It worked out very well, but we decided that it was quite a bit for the 4 Runner.
   We went looking for something else to tow with. What we found was a good deal on a 2004 Ford F-350, 6.0L Powerstroke Diesel, Lariat Crew Cab, 4X4 long bed pickup. That was on a Sunday. The next Tuesday we found, and purchased, a 2007 (brand new) 8 1/2' Alpenlite camper. We now have our 'leDragonfly'! It seems to be ideal for us (plus our two Maine Coon cats)...

   Well ... that didn't last long! While in Florence, OR we saw and purchased a Forest River Sandpiper Sport 38' 5th wheel. I think we're there now!                                >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

2011 - During our travels we found the home of our dreams in Meridian, Idaho. We sold our 5th wheel & truck (they served us very well) and finished moving in during the month of September. We are now only 45 minutes from Bob's kids & grandkids in Ontario, OR & Fruitland, ID. We have purchased an ATV (Polaris Sportsman/Touring 850 EPS), trading our trusty motorcycle in on the deal. We have joined a local ATV club - Boise ATV Trail Riders - and we are planning many rides with our new friends!

Our 'Log' is still active and we will be posting things in the future, so ... be sure to check back with us if you'd like. We plan on keeping on the internet via wifi whenever possible to update our web-site and the journal of our journeys!
